Itinerary

Day 1: Madrid - Welcome!

Welcome to Madrid! As the vibrant heart of Spain’s LGBTQ+ culture, Madrid is a city of openness, acceptance, and celebration.

With over 500,000 of the city’s 3 million inhabitants identifying as LGBTQ+, Madrid is not only one of Spain’s most gay-friendly cities but stands as one of Europe's leading lights for LGBTQ+ inclusivity. The city's Pride parade is a testament to this, drawing over 2 million participants each year. While the Chueca district is the official LGBTQ+ hub, Madrid’s welcoming spirit stretches beyond its borders, enveloping the entire city in a warm embrace.

Flights to Madrid are not included in this trip, allowing you the freedom to select your preferred departure airport, airline, and travel time (if you wish to extend your stay, let us know and we can help plan it for you).

Upon arrival, make your way to our centrally located LGBTQ+ hotel. As you arrive, our group coordinator will be awaiting to provide a warm welcome and assist you with check in. Once you've settled in and freshened up, we'll start our exploration of the city.

Our first stop is Templo de Debod, an ancient Egyptian temple with stunning city views. As evening descends, we will walk to our restaurant for our welcome dinner, toasting to our upcoming adventures against the beautiful city skyline. For those who are up for it, the night is yet young.

We might choose to visit the lively LGBTQ+ nightlife scene in the Chueca district, home to popular clubs like Boite, DLRO, MalaMala, Kluster, and Baila Cariño.

Included:

  • Welcome dinner at rooftop restaurant (incl. 2 drinks)
  • Accommodation at LGBTQ+ 4-star hotel
Day 2: Madrid

After a delightful buffet breakfast we immerse ourselves in the architectural majesty and historical richness of Madrid on a walking tour. With our local coordinator leading the way, we will wander through the city's vibrant corridors, discovering diverse treasures from the intricate 19th-century structures like the Mercado de San Miguel, a food lover's paradise, to the iconic landmarks at the ever-energetic Puerta del Sol.

We'll experience the allure of the charismatic Plaza de España, and inviting squares such as Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa, each a unique vignette showcasing the city's deep-seated history and the rich tapestry of Spanish life. We will also visit the incredible Royal Palace, which serves as a testament to the city's royal heritage.

As the day progresses, we shift from Madrid's historic heart to its thriving pulse in the Chueca District. Celebrated as a bastion of Madrid's LGBTQ+ community, Chueca's vibrant spirit is a celebration of inclusivity and diversity. It's a rich blend of inviting street scenes, lively cafés, and a palpable sense of pride that sets the perfect stage for an exploration into Madrid's contemporary culture.

To close off this wonderful day, we will enjoy a delicious dinner together at a carefully selected top restaurant, and maybe continue discovering Chueca’s nightlife?

Included:

  • Breakfast
  • Walking tour of Madrid center
  • Royal Palace visit (incl. entrance fee)
  • Dinner (incl. soft drinks and wine)

Day 3: Madrid

Our day begins at a leisurely pace, presenting an opportunity to absorb the rich culture that Madrid offers.

For the art aficionados, we have the illustrious Museo del Prado on our radar, a haven of European art that boasts works by masters such as Goya, Velázquez, and El Greco. Here, centuries of artistic expression unfurl before your eyes, immersing you in Spain's creative legacy.

Alternatively, those with a penchant for fashion and design can embark on a shopping expedition in the trendsetting districts of Malasaña and Chueca. These vibrant neighborhoods are the beating heart of Madrid's contemporary scene, brimming with independent boutiques, eclectic vintage shops, and cutting-edge fashion outlets.

Your group coordinator is on hand to assist with arrangements, provide local insights, or suggest personalized itineraries tailored to your interests.

As the day's adventures wind down, we reconvene at our hotel's exquisite rooftop terrace. Here, enveloped in the city's twilight hues, we can indulge in a refreshing swim or savor handcrafted cocktails against the backdrop of Madrid's panoramic skyline. It's the perfect setting to recount the day's experiences or simply revel in the serene ambiance.

Day 4: Madrid

We commence our day by unveiling the sophistication of Barrio Salamanca, Madrid's quintessential high-end district. Marvel at the elegant architecture, peruse the exclusive boutiques, or sip coffee in one of its chic cafes.

From there, we find tranquility within the city's bustle as we saunter into the verdant haven of Retiro Park. This expansive park is a beautiful testament to Madrid's dedication to preserving green spaces, and serves as the city's beloved backyard. Whether you choose to meander along the leafy paths, row on the serene lake, or simply lounge on the lush lawns, Retiro Park offers a tranquil respite amid the city's dynamism.

As dusk falls, we turn the tempo up with a buffet dinner. Savor local gastronomy while indulging in the free-flowing beverages of the open bar. The highlight of the evening, however, is the captivating drag show. Prepare to be enthralled by the vivacious performances, the glittering costumes, and the exhilarating energy that defines Madrid's drag scene.

What Seeka Travelers Are Saying

It's an amazing way to travel and connect with new people.
In my case, it's been the perfect chance to explore a destination I otherwise wouldn't have dared to venture to.

Outstanding! It was my first trip of this kind, and it won't be the last. The group was fantastic, and the coordinator made sure to create a positive vibe from the first minute. Besides, he took us to some very local restaurants and places, off the beaten path... simply top-notch!

I'd been on several group trips with other companies before, but Seeka Travel was unparalleled. The fact that the whole group was gay made me feel more comfortable than ever. They took us to hotels and places specially for LGBT, I loved it!

I'd highlight the excellent organization. Our coordinator was attentive to us at all times, ensuring that everything flowed perfectly. The hotels were luxurious, and the destinations spectacular. The group I traveled with was great, and we bonded well. Thanks!

Highly recommended. Even before the trip, I had a lot of conversations with the SeekaTravel team, and they were very kind and fast in answering all my questions.
